Governor Adeleke Inaugurates 6.2 km Ereja Square-Brewery dual carriageway in Ilesa as Owa Obokun Of Ijesaland Oba Dr. Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, expresses gratitude to him for keeping to his electioneering promises in less than two years in office

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has flagged off the dualization of Ereja Square-Imo-Ilesa/Akure expressway at Ilesa and promised that the project would completed within 12 months.

Speaking at the 2nd edition of his stewardship programme tagged ‘Ipade Imole,’ at Oba Adekunle Aromolaran event center, Ilesa, on Tuesday, Adeleke said, “And so today, we are flagging off the dualization of this road which by the grace of God shall be completed in 12 months. This road which is 6.2 km long with a 9.0m width of each carriageway with a median installed with solar street lights, walkway,y, and a boulevard at some section of the road shall bring out the glory of Ijesha land.

“The Dualization of this road is divided into two sections which will be done simultaneously at a total cost of N16,570,862,248.07. After due compliance with procurement laws, section one of the project was awarded to Horizon Nigeria Limited while the second section will be handled by Showie-tee Global Services Limited.

He also revealed that his administration planned to rehabilitate 16.5 kilometres of roads across the Osun East Senatorial District while calling on the residents around the construction area to give full cooperation and support the construction companies handling the project, he also tasked the contractors to ensure harmonious relationship with the host community of the projects.

The Governor said his government has achieved tremendously in the last 16 months of his administration, noting that he has maintained a fair balance between ‘stomach infrastructure’ and hard capital infrastructure.

Adeleke also insisted that he did not borrow despite the ‘huge liabilities’ he inherited from the previous government, saying “If anybody tells you this administration has borrowed money, tell the person he is a liar.

He listed his achievements in the areas of infrastructure, health, sport, education, agriculture, and solid mineral sector, saying “Our Government is putting pressure on the Federal Government to remit the share of solid mineral states from the mining royalties being paid to the Federal Government.

The Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Dr. Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, who could not contain his happiness during the historic event, expressed his gratitude to the Ademola Adeleke administration for keeping its electioneering promises to his domain in less than two years in office. He emphasized how happy he is to have been able to witness so many remarkable and unprecedented developments take place during his reign.

The Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland expressed gratitude to the governor for seeing through the dualization of the Roundabout – Akure Express junction and the upgrade of the former College of Education Ilesa to a full-fledged university during his lifetime.

According to him, the governor had shown himself to be a man of his world, one who had the best interests of the Ijesa people at heart.

After the monthly interactive program, Ipade Imole in Ilesa, Oba Kehinde Oyebade Oyeleye, the Ogboni of Ipole, hosted the governor and other traditional rulers to a luncheon at his residence in Ilesa, saying that progress can only be achieved in unity.

Oba Kehinde Oyebade Oyeleye encouraged the traditional rulers of Ijesaland to rally round Governor Adeleke and the Owa Obokun to spur further development.
