As Sons and Daughters of Ijesaland will on Saturday, December 23rd roll out the drums to celebrate the annual Iwude Ijesa festival , The Alamuye of Amuye-Faforiji-Ijesa, Oba Dr Adebayo Faforiji Oteniara III described the annual festival as the pride of the people of Ijesaland which showcases the Unity and Rich Culture of the Land.
Oba Faforiji stated this in his congratulatory message to the Paramount ruler of Ijesaland, Oba Dr Adekunle Aromolaran CFR LLD, the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, and Ijesa Sons and Daughters at home and in the diaspora.
While expressing optimism that the prayers that comes with the festival will bring more progress, development and peace to Ijesaland, Alamuye prayed for stronger bond among the people of Ijesaland,as well as better days for the land.
He saluted the laudable efforts made by Kabiyesi Owa Obokun Adimula and the current administration under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, towards ensuring peace and development of the land.
The Monarch urged Ijesa people to use the celebration to forge closer ties with friends and neighbours, as well as the state Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, who is passionate about overall development of Ijesaland, and Osun state at large.
