Governor Adeleke Assures No Demolition of Ilesa Central Mosque

Governor Ademola Adeleke has reassured the Ijesa Muslim community that there are no plans to demolish the Ilesa Central Mosque amidst the ongoing road dualisation project.

Speaking through his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke reaffirmed the promise made during the ‘Ipade Imole’ meeting, stating that the mosque will remain intact. Only the extended canopies will be affected, not the main building as previously indicated.

“The Governor has received the plea of the Ijesa Muslim leaders and has directed that fresh assurance be given that the mosque is not billed for demolition in the ongoing road dualisation,” said Rasheed. “The Muslim ummah should not entertain any fear as the mosque remains intact.”

Governor Adeleke has also instructed officials from the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to engage with the Muslim leaders on this matter. The spokesperson commended stakeholders for their support of the dualisation project and emphasized the Governor’s commitment to infrastructure upgrades that prioritize local content and community collaboration.
